One of the most popular covers was (of course) by Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn. Recorded 15 years after the original, the song was featured on Lynn’s 1982 album, Instant Love. Unlike the original recording, the duo’s version of the song became a top ten hit, peaking at number four on the Billboard R&B singles chart.
